Wrexham2029 Official Bid Film
Friday 7th August 2026 saw the release of You Came for the Name, Wrexham's official UK City of Culture 2029 bid film, directed by Eleri B Jones.
It has been an incredible privilege to be part of the producing team alongside such a talented cast, crew and creative team. From the earliest planning through to production, it's been a project built on collaboration, trust and a shared passion for telling Wrexham's story.
It was amazing to see some of our footage woven throughout the film, from event coverage to aerial drone shots. It was an honour to have our work featured alongside the outstanding cinematography of Leighton Cox.
More than anything, this film reflects what makes Wrexham special: its people. The creativity, generosity and passion of everyone involved, both on screen and behind the camera, has been inspiring to witness.
Congratulations to the entire Wrecsam2029 team, everyone who gave their time to the production, and the people of Wrexham who showed exactly why this city deserves to be UK City of Culture 2029.
